SABATO 10 FEBBRAIO 2018, ore 17.30 – Villa Necchi Campiglio
Leonardo Cella violin
Pietro Fabri, violin
Elisa Floridia viola
Giacomo Gaudenzi cello
This Italian string quartet was inspired by an early 20th-century movement in painting; its most famous exponent, Henri Matisse, pushed the use of pure, vibrant colour to an extreme, thereby obtaining a new pictorial technique.
“We chose this name because we try to share an intense emotional experience with listeners, thanks to musical colours,” says Leonardo Cella, the quartet’s first violin. The quartet gives concerts in major musical seasons, series and festivals. It is currently participating in the master class held by the Quartetto di Cremona at the “Walter Stauffer” Academy of Cremona, and it was recently awarded the prestigious triennial fellowship given by the Yehudi Menuhin Foundation, a worldwide organization for fostering young talent. Since 2016 the Fauves Quartet has participated in the “Le Dimore del Quartetto” project.
