Timo Andres is one of the most respected American composers of his generation (along with Nico Muhly, Bryce Dessner, Judd Greenstreet and others), all born under the sign of John Adams, Philip Glass and Steve Reich. Besides being a much-applauded composer, Andres is also a well-known pianist: for a decade – and thanks also to his connections with as important a record label as Nonesuch – he has been exploring contemporary and twentieth-century American music. In Italy, his works have been performed by Sentieri Selvaggi and other groups.
